$13.1 BILLION
TOTAL ADDRESSABLE MARKET IN THE U.S. ALONE.
ADDRESSABLE MARKET
According to our analysis, an addressable market opportunity of approximately $13.1 billion in total product/service revenue currently exists, including $4.3 billion of which is related to pre-flood preparation services to be conducted well in advance of any potential flooding events.
There are millions of slab-on-grade single-family homes which are candidates for patent-pending Flood Zipper™. Analysis of published flood zone data from CoreLogic® and NYU Furman Center indicates there are approximately 6 million single-family homes in the U.S. which are located outside of a coastal storm surge area, rated as having “Extreme-to-High Flood Risk”, and built after 1960. Roughly half of these homes are constructed over concrete foundations and represent good candidates for our solution.
Adding certain homes and small buildings which are located within coastal storm surge areas and/or outside of the U.S. significantly increases the market opportunity. Please note that Flood Zipper™ is not designed to protect coastal homes from hurricane-force winds and aggressive storm surges, but is suitable for the majority of inland, slab-on-grade homes at risk of flooding.
COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE
Flood Zipper™ is a novel offering and no other solution exists like it in the market.
Here are some points of differentiation from current product offerings:
-
Flood Zipper™ leverages the structural integrity of the building to support the solution.
-
Flood Zipper™ is comprehensive, effective, and affordable for existing houses at risk of future inland flooding.
-
Pre-flood preparation by licensed contractors is not disruptive to home occupants, does not alter home appearance, and helps ensure successful emergency deployment of the Flood Zipper™ solution.
-
Pre-fitted and labeled components facilitate onsite storage and easy DIY emergency deployment. Also, building occupants can independently and easily remove Flood Zipper™ components after flood threat subsides.
Current options available to home/building owners at risk of flooding are inconveniently and impractically limited to:
-
Elevating the building which is costly, changes the architectural appearance, and is highly disruptive.
-
Demolishing and rebuilding the house after elevating the foundation which is also very costly and disruptive.
-
Purchasing costly, current market flood-proofing solutions which all have significant and important drawbacks.
