Flooding from Hurricane Harvey in late August 2017 caused widespread destruction in the city of Houston and other inland areas. The personal experience of one of our co-founders with being evacuated during this flooding disaster provided the impetus for designing the integrated systems that makeup the Flood Zipper™ solution.  While climbing in the boat in front of his house with his wife and their Labrador retriever “Caz”, it struck him how tragic it is that people have no practical means to protect their structurally sound homes when faced with the threat of an impending flood by slowly rising floodwaters.

GHW Solutions, LLC is a startup company organized to develop and facilitate the commercialization of a comprehensive suite of affordable dry flood-proofing products. These new technologies can be quickly and easily deployed by homeowners on certain prepared homes immediately preceding a possible flooding event to save the house and its contents from water damage. We believe Flood Zipper™ will address an important societal need if it is successfully commercialized in communities that are most at-risk for inland flooding.
